Title : Alternate Realties of Gore #1 "LORDS OF HELL" Deathmatch Version Filename : ARG1LOH.WAD Author : Minimalist (lewis sellers) Email Address : lsellers@brbbs.com (don't mind email much, though expect delays of up to a week.) Also available at dist site TOW (615)577-9342, Sevierville, TN USA Misc. Author Info : Founder/Coder of The Minimalist Group (VR/RPG) Knoxville, TN United States of America Description : War rages in Hell. Three blind lords rise up to stand in judgment as their brothers battle for dominance in some petty squabble.... Unfortunately for you, they decide to bash each others' silicon-brains out right in the middle of your marine practice area (map 01). Man, have you got problems. Thought this was going to be an easy run through the same-ol maze? Just go take a peek around that pillar to your right and tell me what you think... :) Still alive? ========================================== LORDS OF HELL - DEATHMATCH VERSION ========================================== Had a chance to test it in deathmatch mode last weekend. Noticed a few bugs and got a few ideas. Several new minor changes. The "shield-walls" are especially fun if you don't know about them. There are four or five major areas that provide interesting fortresses. My favourite is "the snipers pit" which opens up on the main hall. Almost impossible to get into with just two players. But get a pal to help you root out your common enemy and... =) Actually, each of the beta testers last week had their own favourite places... some of which I just enhanced by their desires, while I think I didn't just introduce any major bugs, there are no promises. If you play WITH the monsters, be aware that you don't HAVE to kill the cyber-demons to win. But these secrets are best left for you to figure out.... And there are several secrets. "He who knows the secret ways shall prevail." ... everyone else gets fragged. Hope the modifications I just made don't change the balance of the game too much. The play is JUST barely acceptable on a 486sx25 but a 486sx33 seems to be a good minimum. BTW: Careful what buttons you press! Oh,...and sorry 'bout the UAC room. It was just so bloody easy without it, so.... It does present some problems doesn't it? :) * Play Information * Level # : Map 01 Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes (very handy to 'ave another mate :) Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes (but of course) Difficulty Settings : Yes, 1 - 5 New Sounds : No (see below) New Graphics : No (anyone got an editor??) New Music : No (see above) Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : heavily modified from DOOM2.WAD map01 Editor(s) used : DEU521-II Known Bugs : A couple corners have HOMs. If you know how to fix them email me. This is my FIRST wad, and I didn't know a thing about 'em before this weekend began. Beyond the few "visual" problems it seems to work ok... but I haven't tested it multiplayer yet. Also, I think there's some kind of "recursive" bug in the main room that is slowing things down more than it should. Well, just don't sit there... play it! or debug it! * Copyright / Permissions * Authors MAY use this level as a base to build additional levels.
